None of my comments above spoiled my holiday, but this is NOT a 5* hotel/resort.This Uvero Alto getaway embraces its remote white-sand beach location, and dazzles holidaymakers with its spacious suites, outdoor whirlpools, swim-out options and more. We ate in the Carnival Restaurant each day, for either breakfast or lunch, and each day observed women in bikinis, despite notices clearly stating shirts or throw overs must be worn, men shirt less and some with soaking wet swimming shorts. We were in the Bluewater Grill steakhouse on Saturday evening and there were 8 people at a table for 6, 4 of which were wearing cap sleeved t-shirts or vests, Bermuda shorts and flip flops.

The hotel advertises the dress code in these Restaurants as Casual Ellegant, but they dont enforce it. The food in these A La Carts is excellent, a good range of choice and cooked excellently. Everyone then congregates around the Prelude bar with your beeper in hand waiting to be called into wherever you've booked, even though you cant book.
You cannot book, as non-preferred, you simply turn up and, if you arrive after 6:30 and before 9, you get around an hours wait. There are then a range of A La Carte restaurants specialising in differing cuisine. The Carnival is regular buffet food, with difference in choice each day, but a more then decent range of choice, none of it is roasting hot, but we never experienced anything being cold where we would have expected it to be hot. Where Dreams leaves lots to be desired is in the Restaurant area and set up.

I cannot praise the staff, from cleaners, grounds maintenance, bar staff, waiters enough, they are all so friendly and professional and no task it too great. I've also never stayed in a 5* hotel that does not provide you with a toilet brush! a 90 degree rotating glass door left very little room for drying after taking a shower, you also have to step through 2 sets of doors before washing your hands after using the toilet. We weren't a Preferred customer so we didn't get snacks included and I was never going to pay $9US for a packet of Pringles! Only downside to the room was the shower room and toilet. We were taken to our room and the cases came in no time, a spacious Junior Deluxe suite, with a more than adequate mini bar. We arrived back this morning after a 2 week summer holiday, it was our first time DR so I have nothing to compare it directly with.įirst impressions, beautiful lobby, concierge and bell boys look after you as soon as you enter the chilled lobby area that permanently smells of coconut butter.
